「休眠」 ポストカード − Unused Postcards & Letter Sets

旅行好きのShorinが、旅先でつい集めてしまうのが、ポストカード。

しかし、例えば何枚か買って、気に入ったもの数枚は使い、あとは使う機会もなくそのまま眠らせてしまっていて。。。という人、私の他にも、きっと、結構おられるのでは？　（笑）　　

先日、そういった [休眠」　ポストカードを募り、被災地にお送りし、使って頂こう、という「おたよりプロジェクト」という活動をされているグループがあると知りました。　

遠方の方とは、メール、ケータイやメッセンジャーでのコミュニケーションが多くなった昨今ですが、いろんな事情で、それが難しく、お手紙や葉書のほうがよい場合も、きっと多いはず。　そんな時に、新しい葉書やレターセットをわざわざ新しく買い揃える必要がないよう、使って頂けそうなものを送りましょう、というプロジェクトだそうです。すばらしい！

I love travelling and getting postcards for myself at the places I visit. However, I usually send out only some of the postvards and have several leftover. I suppose this is the same for many people. :)

The other day I was introduced to a volunteer group that is doing what they call an "OTAYORI (Letter) Project". Their mission is to send these unused postcards or letter writing stationary with envelops to the TOHOKU region so that people living there can use them for writing.

To contact people who are away we nomally use phone, E-mails or messenger services these days. However we also know it is sometimes better to use traditional letters or postcards for many reasons. Thanks to the Otayori Project Tohoku people may be able to get letter writings stationary and postcards at no charge for their correspondance. How wonderful!
